How do you keep an NRCS contract from falling apart?
CSP and EQIP without the panic — what your contract requires and the proof to keep on file. Free from the FieldCommandCenter agronomy team.
The short answer
NRCS contracts don't fail in the field — they fail in the paperwork. The practices most farms sign up for (cover crops, nutrient management, reduced till, irrigation efficiency) are things you're largely doing anyway; the money is lost to missed certification deadlines, thin documentation, and receipts that can't be tied to a field.
The fix is a running Proof Book: evidence collected as the work happens, not reconstructed the week payment certification is due.
